San Clemente City Council granted our request last week to put us on the agenda for May 17 at 6:00pm, 100 Avenida Presidio, San Clemente, CA
Out of 40 speakers lined up to speak at the NRC meeting on April 28, only 21 were allowed the opportunity due to a “filibuster” orchestrated by SONGS management.
We are grateful to our City Council for allowing us this opportunity. Although we only have 10 minutes to present our case, we will cover as much information as possible. All who wish to speak on the issue will be given 3 minutes each, but if someone has stated your point of view it might be in everyone’s best interest to pass. The fact that you are there in person, will have a tremendous impact on the council, the public and the news media. Just SHOW UP as a sign of solidarity.
Our goal is to have our City Council vote to endorse our objectives so we can take that to other cities in the 50 mile evacuation area and gain even more momentum for our cause. Ultimately our collective voices will be what makes the biggest impact as we approach other elected officials and the California Public Utilities Commission and the California Energy Commission.
