1. The
City has created a webpage dedicated to keeping the community updated
about what’s happening with the Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan.
Here’s the link: http://san-clemente.org/sc/standard.aspx?pageid=602

2. The
consultant (KTU+A) hired to help write San Clemente’s Bicycle and
Pedestrian Master Plan has placed surveys online for the public to
complete. It’s important that all of us take the time to participate so
that our BPMP reflects our town’s needs and dreams as we strive to
become a more bicycle and pedestrian friendly community. There are two separate surveys. Please complete both.

PLEASE FORWARD THIS EMAIL TO FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS SO THEY CAN PARTICIPATE, TOO.
3. Saturday, Sept. 11, 9 am to noon, Senior Center @ 242 Ave Del Mar: At
the scheduled General Plan Workshop, KTU+A will have a large, aerial
map of the entire town. The idea is for people to locate areas on the
map and comment on what’s good or bad about that location, from a
bicycle and a pedestrian perspective. The map is impressive and
provides a great opportunity for us to provide feedback regarding
specific problems at precise locations. Don’t be afraid to dream big! Bring the kids, too. Their involvement is a great lesson on civic participation. Note:
the Sept. 11 General Plan workshop will be focused on Del Mar and the
T-Zone, but KTU+A will have a section of the room dedicated just to the
Bicycle and Pedestrian outreach. You don’t need to stay for the entire 3
hours. It’s ok to stop by to only do the bike and ped feedback, if you like.
