There is a pervasive sense of hopelessness in confronting such a large and dominating industry, and a willingness to let those charged with looking out for the public interest worry about such things. Unfortunately, the NRC seems unwilling or unable to act in our best interests with an apparent bias towards the industry. As we are seeing in FUKUSHIMA, the risks are just too high to allow the industry to be self-regulated which is essentially what has become the case over time.
