The Henderson House Community Garden (AKA El Jardin de los Mares), has strengthened its ties to the neighborhood and beyond with the first phase of the community art project now completed. Many new faces appeared at this latest event and the trend promises to continue growing. Saturday mornings will be the designated meeting time for neighbors and volunteers to join with the residents of Henderson House to maintain the garden and harvest the garden produce as well as the intangible fruits that result from people coming together for the benefit of all. Please join us any Saturday morning at 9:00 to participate in this wholesome activity. Perhaps you will become inspired to begin such a garden/meeting place in your own neighborhood once you’ve experienced the Henderson House project.
Special thanks goes out to Fired Up for handling the ceramic tiles for us, and to South Coast Farms, who has contributed baskets of fresh organic produce while our garden gets established. A very special thanks goes out to Diane Gonzales of Communities For All Ages (CFAA), for her dedication, passion and vision for this art project, helping us make a special place for people to come together for the benefit of others.
