Attended lunch meeting for USGBC at the office of LPA to learn about ?Commissioning Agents? whose role it is to oversee the implementation of LEED standards. After the meeting I met with Craig Newton of Henrikson Owen. He spoke to me about SC Green (came up in my Q to speaker), that he is currently setting up a system of LEED review for the State of California, recently working on Cal State Fullerton. He thinks he could be very helpful to San Clemente. I also spoke to John McIntosh who was recently written about in the register. His company is able to monitor energy usage of all city-owned buildings remotely from a high-tech control room for ?green certification?.
Later that day visited the Global Green Resource Center in Santa Monica, and went on to see a presentation in Wilshire by LA Forum architects who were showcasing a project by BP, who has converted an old gas station into a symbol of Green Consciousness. Quite impressive and not as much ?green-wash? as expected.
