Contacted Jim Pechous to see about any efforts that may be going on in San Clemente to become more sustainable, (motivated by article on Pasadena Green). Jim said that "typically any grass roots effort starts with a person or group who champions the cause, similar to Stephanie Dorey?s and others efforts with making water quality a City priority". Jim then suggested we talk to the City of Irvine who has taken a leadership role in green building and the Orange County LEED chapter to learn more.
We followed his suggestion, joined the local chapter for USGBC, started contacting other cities going green, and seeking out other individuals who might be interested in becoming part of a core group, and set up this website to be a resource to all interested parties.
