SUSTAINABILITY ACTION PLAN PASSES 5-0 !

Tuesday night our City Council voted unanimously to accept
our final draft (see attachment below) as the ?roadmap? to sustainability! This document will play an
active role in shaping policy, especially as we consider updating the General
Plan, currently underway. We appreciate the cooperative effort between city
representatives and our outstanding Green Ribbon Panel in getting
it to this point so that we can now begin to implement the goals and objectives
laid out. At the same meeting, the City Council denied the request from the Mayor
of Lake Forest to join them in support of the ?California Jobs Initiative?
sponsored by the petroleum industry. This would have been a big setback for the
new green economy that promises a much brighter economic future than the status
quo.
